A middle-aged man in Rongai is being sought by the police after he allegedly raped his brother’s wife and cut the brother with a machete on the head.
Timothy Leruk is reported to have secretly followed his brother’s wife as he was headed to the market before forcibly dragging her into a nearby bush where he raped her.
According to police reports, Leruk’s brother, who was by good luck passing by, heard screams emanating from the bush and on moving nearby, he found his own brother raping his 30-year-old wife. When he confronted him, Leruk cut him on the head with a machete he was carrying before taking off.
Confirming the Tuesday morning incident, Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko said the husband and wife were rushed to the nearby health centre by relatives before later being transferred to the Rift Valley provincial general hospital in Nakuru.
“The man is reported to have raped his brother’s wife and at the same time he cut and injured his brother on the forehead before he took off and up to now he is still at large," the police boss said.
"Police are looking for him and we are sure we will catch up with him.”
They are in stable condition and are continuing with treatment at the hospital, he added.
