Like any other Kenyan, when they are robbed, harassed and property taken from them, Jervason Musinga went to police station to report after robbers stole Sh390,000 from him in Machakos town.
But what amazed Musinga is that the people who robbed him were actually police officers and were the ones attending to him at the police crime office in Machakos Police Station.
Musinga then decided to report the incident at Salama Police Station in Makueni County after the Machakos police officers refused to record a statement with him after he recognized the two attackers who were now police officers.
Musinga claims that on Friday he withdrew Sh400,000 from Equity Bank at Machakos town, spent Sh10,000 to buy some items and as he was walking to the Machakos Referral Hospital, a salon car stopped by his side and one occupant ushered him in.
The men bundled him into the car where they allegedly roughed him before they threatened to shoot him and abandoned him along Machakos-Konza Road in a bush after robbing him of the money he had.
Police have launched investigations to get to the root of the matter and culprits brought to book.
“He says he found two of the men who robbed him of the money at the report office in civilian clothes. He alleges he tried to make a report on the incident but was told to wait outside until late in the evening,” a police officer privy to the investigations said.
