A 26-year-old man was on Tuesday sentenced to life imprisonment by a Nakuru court for severally defiling a 10-year-old girl.Setrick Khanga'hi was found guilty beyond reasonable doubts after the prosecution presented eight witnesses.According to the minor's evidence, the accused lured her with sweets into a maize plantation at Banglandesh Estate, Nakuru West sub-county on September 29 2014 on her way home after school. He covered her mouth on the fateful day in the farm and warned her of screaming. He again defiled the girl who was then in class two on two more occasions. The mother inquired from the child why she had difficulties in walking and that's when she narrated the ordeal. They reported the matter to the chief and later to Central Police Station in Nakuru where the accused was apprehended.Resident Magistrate Eunice Kelly said that the prosecution had supplied sufficient witnesses including a medical doctor who confirmed that the child was indeed defiled by the man he identified in court. He was handed a life sentence with 14 days to appeal.
