A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Nyeri court for murdering his neighbor's house girl over a land dispute.
The accused Geoffrey Chomba was found guilty of storming Julius Muriuki's house and stabbing to death his house girl, Lydia Wanjiru.
The court heard that Chomba committed the offence on July 4, 2008.
Justice Ngaah said the prosecution had proved its case beyond any reasonable doubt after hearing evidence that Chomba was not happy with Muriuki for purchasing land from his mother.
"The evidence before the court finds the accused guilty and, therefore, the accused will spend the rest of his life in prison,’’ ruled Ngaah.
The accused has 14 days to appeal against the ruling.
