A man has been sentenced to life in prison by a Thika court for defiling a one and a half-year-old girl. Samuel Ndung'u was accused of defiling the minor early this month at Makwa sub-location in Gatundu South Sub County. A witness told the court that he walked in on the accused while he was defiling the minor. The court heard that the witness struggled with Ndung'u and managed to free the child before informing the neighbours. The witness told the area residents of what had happened and the angry residents caught up with him and locked him inside the house where he had committed the crime. The court heard that the residents wanted to lynch him but the police who arrived at the scene on time managed to rescue him. Resident Magistrate Esther Wambui Mburu in his ruling sentenced the accused to life in prison.
