An administration police officer from Kangundo Administration Police Post, Kangundo Sub County in Machakos County is nursing injuries after a man and his son attacked him.
The officer’s leg was broken during the attack, which area chief said had been a calculated move as the son was facing rape charges.
Chief Rapheal Kilonzo said the man arrived in the station on Monday evening and asked to see the sergeant, whom they walked a few metres from the station together and then the man together with his son broke the officer’s leg and ran to unknown place.
“The son had been arraigned in Kangundo Law Courts to answer charges of rape case and was released on bond. The case will be heard on a later date. He later in the evening together with his father attacked the sergeant and broke his leg,” Kilonzo said.
He added: “We have launched a serious search for the two. We will coordinate with community policing team and the administration police to ensure that the two are arrested and charged accordingly,” Kilonzo said.
He urged residents to report to the police if they spot the man or his son to ensure they are brought to justice.
The sergeant is admitted at Kangundo General Hospital for treatment.
