A man who was in his early 40s was on Friday morning found killed in his house at Enderi Magura estate Borabu Nyamira County.
Borabu police boss Michael Lesmum confirmed the incident and said neighbors who went to wake up the man to go to work found the door open and his body in bed dead.
“The deceased has been working at a local tea plantation as a tea picker. We have launched probe to know the killers and what was their motive because it seems he was strangled by the killers since he doesn’t have any signs of physical torture,” said Lesmum.
The police urged residents to cooperate with police to arrest the killers who have gone into hiding.
“I call upon locals to volunteer information to police which will lead to the arrest of the criminals behind the murder. Police will not reveal the identity of anyone who volunteers information about the criminals who seems to be making a come back in the region,” he said.
He urged residents to be calm to allow police officers complete investigations.
The deceased body was taken to Nyamira County hospital mortuary.
