A man who lost his son during the Garissa University College attack has sued the institution for his son's death.
Mr Gakuru Michire is seeking for compensation two years after his son Samuel Michire died when Al-shabab attacked the university.
On Tuesday through his lawyer Njiru Ndegwa, Michire filed a case at the High Court with the Garissa University, Attorney General and Inspector General of police as first, second and third respondents.
In his submission, Michire said the respondents failed and neglected their respective duties, that is offering his son protection on the day of the attack.
Michire further argues that the respondents failed to uphold the principles of national security and defending his son's right to life.
The attack that happened on April 2, 2015, claimed the life of 147 people while some suffered injuries.
