Police officers in Likoni are investigating an incident in which a man was stabbed a few meters from a polling station in the area.The man, whose identity was not disclosed, was stabbed in the neck at Soko Mjinga area, near Mtongwe social hall polling station.Confirming the early morning incident, Likoni police boss Benjamin Rotich said security officers have launched investigations into the matter."We are investigating whether he was attacked while going to vote,” said Rotich, as quoted by the Star.The man was taken to Likoni district hospital for treatment. A section of NASA supporters in Likoni had earlier burnt tyres in protest against the repeat presidential election.However, calm has since been restored in the area, following the intervention of police on patrol.NASA leader Raila Odinga on Wednesday asked his supporters to boycott the polls.“Do not participate in any way in the sham election. Convince your friends, neighbours, and everyone else not to participate. Instead, we advise Kenyans who value democracy and justice to hold vigils and prayers away from polling stations,” said Raila.
