A man has told the Kisii High Court that he personally witnessed the killing of an elderly woman at Bokeira village, Kisii County.
Mr Edwin Mayienda was among 11 other people who were arrested by police after the body of the woman Esther Bochaberi was found in Migori County.
"I saw her being murdered but I did not kill her myself reason am pleading not guilty," said Mr Mayienda.
The others include; Fredrick Nyambati, James Mogita, Edward Onyango, Benson Machuka, Peter Nyamerere, Joseph Moire, Reuben Onduso, Christopher Oyugi, Robert Orwaru and Vincent Maobe.
It is said that they witnessed the murder of the pastor but were not involved.
The case is said to be contrary to section 203 as read with section 204 of the penal code.
Ms Bonareri went missing for a month and her body was discovered at a sugar plantation in Migori County.
The eleven were presented by their lawyer Elijah Okemwa and the family was presented by Advocate Stephen Kimaiyo.
They were released on a bond of Sh 500,000 each with a surety of similar amount.
The case will heard on 13/06/2018.
