A 35 year-old man who defiled a Form One student two years ago will spend 15 years behind bars after he was found guilty by a Naivasha court.
Geoffrey Njihia appeared before Acting Naivasha Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu, and was found guilty of having defiled the student at Kirima village.
The court heard that on the evening of April 9, 2013 the minor was sent by her parents to the nearby Kirima shopping centre to buy milk.
Apparently the milk vendor was not at the shop prompting Wangeci to wait a little longer for him to arrive by the time which it was late.
On her way home she met Njihia whom she knew well and requested for his phone to call her parents to let them know that she was coming.
Njihia however claimed that his phone was at his house and asked the school girl to accompany him so that she could make the call.
While in the house Njihia again told the complainant that it was impossible to make the call as his phone had no airtime.
Njihia agreed to a request by the minor to text her neighbour who operated a pool table so that she could pass the message to her parents through his phone.
The accused left the house and locked the door from outside sending the minor into a panic mood.
Pretending to have forgotten something that she wanted her parents to be told, she asked him to open the door during which she attempted to escape but in vain.
Njihia is said to have forcefully pushed her back into the house telling her that she would only go home on condition that she ate the food he offered her and had sex with him.
Her refusal to his demands angered the accused who grabbed her and took her onto his bed where he brutally defiled her for hours.
At around midnight the accused ordered the minor to dress up and pick her milk and leave his house.
She instead went to the nearest Kirima police station and reported her ordeal in the hands of the accused.
Police officers informed her parents who came and took her to the Naivasha sub county hospital after which Njihia was arrested.
