The man who killed his two children aged seven and two years and later attempted to end his own life in Thika's Makongeni was today arraigned in Milimani Law Court in Nairobi.
According to sources, the homicide suspect was removed from Thika Level 5 Hospital where he was undergoing treatment yesterday (Thursday) by detectives.
The suspect who goes by the name James Kioho Wanjiku hails from Narumoru, Laikipia County.
At the court, detectives requested the court to grant them 14 days to carry out preliminary investigations into the incidence. The court granted the request forcing Kioho to be taken back to the Makongeni police station where he will remain in custody awaiting to take plea.
Kioho, currently nursing serious injuries from the stabbing, is charged with two accounts.
In the first account, he is accused of killing his two children and in the next he has been accused of trying to take his own life. If found guilty, he will be in jail for life.
A lot of Kenyans have backed the suspect’s own wife in condemning the act and many calling for the law enforcers to see to it justice is served and that Wanjiku gets the dose of his own medicine.
