A suspect who stabbed a Nakuru magistrate got a reprieve on Tuesday after the prosecution reduced his attempted murder charges to assault.

Appearing before Chief magistrate Josephat Burudi, the suspect Michael Kuhora's murder charges were amended to assault by the prosecution.

The suspect on November, 22, 2016 committed the offence to magistrate Eunice Kelly at the Nakuru law courts.

He used a screw driver to attack Kelly after he was granted 3 years in jail for assaulting Ms Edith Adhiambo.

Kuhora denied the assault charges when they were read to him.

He has been remanded at Nakuru Gk prison after he was denied bond which magistrate Burudi dismissed stating that the suspect is still serving 3 years jail term handed to him by the magistrate he stabbed.

The case will be heard on May, 22.
