Police officers from Makongeni police station, Thika, Kiambu County on Wednesday arrested a man who was in possession of 150 rolls of bhang worth Sh10,000.
The suspect identified as James Kamau was nabbed when the officers raided his house at Umoja estate.
Thika OCPD Willy Simba confirmed the incident and said police officers acted after a successful tip off from residents.
"Members of the public informed police officers who acted immediately and arrested the suspect. War on bhang and illicit brews will not stop anytime soon. Drug dealers must be arrested and prosecuted," Simba said.
Simba added that the suspect will be arraigned in court once police complete investigations.
"The suspect will be arraigned in court for being in possession of bhang which is illegal once police officers complete investigations," he said.
The OCPD warned youths against engaging in illegal businesses saying they should venture into legal businesses to avoid unnecessary arrests.
