Athletics Kenya (AK) President, General Jackson Tuwei  has called upon athletes’ managers to help in the fight against doping.

He said doping menace has put Kenya on the limelight not for the good reasons.

"I urge managers to ensure they keep close contact with the athletes for them to be conversant with what they consume. We will not entertain any athlete who is involved in doping,'’  he said during the 27th University of Eldoret Cross Country edition,Saturday.

"We Want to stop this menace once and for all since it is tarnishing our good name. We want our athletes to run clean," he added.

Tuwei warned athletes to be careful on the substances they take during training saying their managers were not responsible if the athletes failed dope tests.

“The athlete is responsible for what he or she takes since the manager and the coach will not be there full time,” added Tuwei.

University of Eldoret Vice chancellor Teresa Akenga reiterated their commitment of ensuring the events are organized annually for more talents to be nurtured.
