Former Nacada chair and Nakuru gubernatorial hopeful John Mututho has called for the probing of Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago for allegedly making inciting remarks.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Mututho also called for the investigation of Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and his Nandi Hills counterpart Alfred Keter over similar claims.

The two legislators are Mandago's key allies and have been traversing the larger Uasin Gishu county urging locals to reject independent candidates.

The government has since cautioned Uasin Gishu politicians against making tribal remarks, arguing that they could fan violence as the country gears up to the general elections.

Speaking on Monday, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdi Hassan stated that the government is alarmed by the three politicians' recent tribal utterances.

“The government has provided recording gadgets to help us monitor all rallies. Those who will be found contravening the law will be dealt with," he said on Monday in an address to the media.
