Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has assured traders in Eldoret town that his government will do everything possible to ensure they are secure.

Addressing traders in Eldoret town on Wednesday morning, Mandago said the government is working towards improving security in the county.

He said measures have been put in place to make sure traders and citizens have adequate security.

“I want to assure you that the county government is keen to promote your safety and that you should go on with your activities without fear,” said Mandago.

The county boss said security is the first priority of his government adding that with proper security machinery in place more investors will come to the county.

Mandago at the same time urged traders to work with the police to ensure law and order. He said that the public must supplement the work being done by law enforcers.

A section of traders at Eldoret town have been lamenting of high cases of crime. The traders claim that their work has been hampered by criminal gangs who allegedly roam a section of the town fearlessly.
