Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has commended Kenyans for turning up to participate in the ongoing repeat presidential election.

Speaking at the Limnyamoi Primary School in Soy constituency after casting his vote, Mandago exuded confidence that the county will record over 90 percent voter turnout.

The Jubilee allied governor asked other Kenyans yet to vote to come out and exercise their constitutional right.

"I am happy that Kenyans have decided to come out and participate in electing their leader," Mandago said

"Other Kenyans yet to vote should do so whether they support President Kenyatta, Raila or any other candidate as that is their right," he added.

Similar sentiments were shared by Uasin Gishu Senator Prof. Margret Kamar who said they have been working closely with other local leaders to ensure more voters participate in the repeat poll.

"We are mobilizing youths to help bring the elderly and the sick to come and vote," said Prof. Kamar after casting her vote at Simotwet primary school.
