Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has asked acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i to deal with the opposition or he be given the job.
Speaking in Nyandarua during the Jubilee campaigns on Thursday, Mandago lamented that during mass protests, participants steal, injure people and destroy property, but the opposition leader Raila Odinga 'did not care'.
The Jubilee allied governor further said he would not have entertained such protests had he been the Nairobi governor.
"I wish I was the Nairobi governor. They would have faced the music," Mandago was quoted by the Star.
"If Matiang’i cannot tame the the opposition, I should be given the job. I can be interior CS as well as governor,” he added.
Mandago also claimed that Raila has gone abroad to seek funds for mass action and he should not be tolerated any longer.
Raila is in London, where he is expected to give an address today (Friday) at Chatham House, Royal Institute of International Affairs.
