Speaking during a diaspora public participation on development of the second generation of County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) in Nairobi, Mandago warned government officials who approve illegal structures for construction in Uasin Gishu County.

He said that his administration will strictly observe the Physical Planning Act when approving development plans.

The governor further said his administration will not keep on approving buildings and at the same time be the ones condemning the same on account of being illegal adding that action will be taken against government officials who approve illegal structures in the County.

He noted that investors have counted loses under the hands of officers who approve illegal structures.

“Investors have in the past fallen victim of circumstances of the rogue government official who approve illegal structures. I am warning officers who will dare approve the same,” stated the county boss.

“Going forward investors will no longer continue counting losses for I will surcharge any officer who will be involved in this illegal business,” he said.
