Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has directed swift processing of retirement pension for staff who formally exit service this year.

A number of staff who have been serving in his government are set to retire from active service this year.

Speaking during the County Government of Uasin Gishu Staff End Year Party, Thursday, Mandago asked heads of Public Service to process dues for all the retirees.

According to Mandago, all the retires, most of whom have served between 35-40 years in both in defunct local government and the County Government, should not wait for too long to get their dues.

"These persons served Government for so many years, so their rewards should be hastened.

"And I want you (Chief Officer Public Service Management) to move with speed to ensure that these retirees get their pension as soon as possible," he said.

Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno on his part said working for such many years need to be rewarded, adding that swift rewarding will be a way of thanking (retirees) for their dedication to service.
