Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago now says he publicly endorsed an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Langas MCA candidate because the Jubilee nominee in the area, incumbent Francis Muya has been campaigning for his competitor, tycoon Zedekiah Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki.
He was speaking during a meeting with members of the Agikuyu community living in the county at the Eldoret social hall, Saturday.
"There was no way I would campaign for a person who is not campaigning for me."
The governor is also said to be supporting another candidate in Huruma ward against Jubilee's nominee Peter Chomba.
"What do you guys think, is it okay for me to go campaigning for Muya and Chomba while they are busy campaigning for Buzeki?" Mandago asked during the meeting.
"If they come back before the elections and apologise I will gladly visit their areas and campaign for them," he added.
During a vote-hunting mission in Langas on Friday, Mandago together with area (Kapseret) MP Oscar Sudi asked their supporters to vote for Charles Okumu, an ODM candidate for MCA seat.
