Members of the Abagusii community living in Uasin Gishu have formally pledged to support county's governor Jackson Mandago's re-election bid.
The declaration was made on Friday at Eldoret Social Hall during a meeting in which hundreds of the community members attended.
Mandago was also present during the meeting.
Some of those who spoke during the meeting hailed Mandago for creating an all-inclusive government that had worked for the interests of all residents.
"Your administration has ensured proper utilization of county funds that have been equitably distributed across the county for the benefit of mwananchi and for that reason you deserve another term in office," said one of the Abagusii member at the meeting.
"We've seen your development projects. We have also benefited from employment opportunities you have created," he added.
On his part, Mandago who is seeking reelection on a Jubilee party ticket affirmed his commitment to ensuring a united county.
"I will keep fostering the cordial relationship that communities in this county have enjoyed as this is the only way we can achieve our development targets," Mandago noted.
The governor who is facing a stiff competition from tycoon Zedekiah Bundotich better known as Buzeki has of late been meeting members of the non-Kalenjin community living in the county as he seeks their support ahead of the polls.
He earlier this week separately met Luhya and Luo community members.
