Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has lauded the formation of the Gotabgaa International Organisation saying treaties such as these will foster growth of the newly formed trade outfit North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb).
Mandago, the interim chairman of Noreb, was speaking during the launch of the Gotabgaa Kenyan chapter which seeks to empower the Kalenjin community’s children to benefit from international scholarships and investment opportunities.
“Cooperatives and groups present great potentiality to the growth and success of Noreb which we highly believe will transform our region by exploiting on what we have and the possibility of exporting the commodities produced here,” Mandago said.
He added that such groups as Gotabgaa can be harnessed into platforms which can give rise to political agendas as well as leadership place of the Kalenjin community.
Mandago added that groups give more muscle to efforts of members while agitating for various issues meaning the energy one person spends cannot be matched with that of three or four people combined.
