Police in Eldoret town has been commended following a drastic drop in the number of criminal cases being reported.Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago said the security team in the county had done a great job in curbing insecurity.Speaking in Eldoret on Saturday, Mandago particularly pointed out the decrease in cases of housebreaking as an indication that the police were effectively delivering on their mandate of protecting citizens and their properties. He, however, asked the police to enhance security and ensure those found engaging in criminal activities are dealt with accordingly."Our police officers have worked extra hard and helped bring down incidences of housebreaking in Eldoret town and nearby residential estates. I must commend them for the great work done," Mandago said."...and even as we head to the festive season I know there are some criminal elements who would be seeking to take advantage of people being away to break into their houses and steal electronics and other valuables and this is why I urge that our police be on the alert," he added. *Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
