Addressing journalists at the Uasin Gishu County offices in Eldoret today, Monday, Mandago expressed concerns that Members of Parliament (MPs) acted in bad faith.

He said that for Judiciary to be effective and handle all legal matters and proceedings well, it must get good budgetary funding.

“The National Assembly acted in bad faith when it slashed budgetary allocations to the Judiciary, the senate and the Salaries Commission,” said Mandago.

The Governor accused the MPs of being led by malice and lacking principles, adding that they acted in revenge against the Senate, the Judiciary and the SRC.

Mandago further noted that supremacy wars between the National Assembly and the senate will derail legislations.

Several leaders have lashed out at the MPs for slashing budgetary allocations to the Judiciary, SRC and the senate.

On Wednesday last week, the MPs lashed out Sh1 b for Monitoring and Evaluation, Sh220 m from the SRC and Sh800 m from the Judiciary budget.

Over the weekend, President Uhuru Kenyatta asked MPs and Senators to stop their supremacy wars and work for Kenyans, adding that they (Kenyans) were not interested in knowing who has powers that the other but want to see development.
