Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago on Tuesday hosted over 70 class 8 candidates of Erait Academy from Lodwar, Turkana county who were in the county on a benchmarking and educational tour.
The pupils identified county government of Uasin Gishu as one of the interest places in the tour and Mandago warmly welcomed them.
Mandago urged them to focus on their education seriously and leave out other things.
"Don't think about what's going on at home, there is no permanent situation in life."
"You have a better chance to change your life and that of your parents and the community at large, study well, work hard," he advised the students.
"Education is an equalizer," added Mandago.
The Governor who is serving is second and the last term further encouraged the pupils to be focused and work hard in their education.
He further said, "as north Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb) we have agreed to prioritize education, that's why we have built and employed enough Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers to make sure our young people get the right foundation."
Since being elected as a county boss in 2013, Mandago has built and refurbished over 400 ECDE's across the county as well as employing at least 1,000 teachers on contract.
