Governor Jackson Mandago has urged fellow politicians to ensure they conduct peaceful campaigns.
Speaking at the Uasin Gishu Primary School grounds in Eldoret on Sunday when he joined hundreds of Muslim faithfuls in celebrating Eid Mubarak, Mandago warned against careless utterances that might cause divisions in the county ahead of the August polls.
The governor who is seeking to defend his seat on a Jubilee party ticket reiterated the need for a peaceful coexistence after the general elections.
"We have invested a lot in building peace in this county and this is why all of us seeking elective positions should avoid careless utterances that might compromise the peace and unity we have now," Mandago noted.
He also accused his competitors for profiling some communities claiming they had been sidelined by his administration, a move the governor said risk causing ethic divisions.
"There are some people busy holding night meetings telling other communities that Mandago don't like them which is pure propaganda meant cause ethnic divisions which we should not allow," noted the governor who is facing a strong challenge from Independent candidate, billionaire businessman Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki.
