According to Governor Jackson Mandago, the campaign is meant to urge students across the County to join Vocational Training Institutions that his administration has established.

“It is sad that despite my government constructing 11 Vocational Training Institutes (VTIs) and equipping them as I am talking the enrollment is below 1,000," said governor Mandago during the launch in Eldoret town, Wednesday.

He said low enrolment had forced them to launch the campaign to sensitize the youths who have completed their primary and secondary education on the importance enrolling in technical institutions.

"I want to urge Sub-county administrators, chiefs, ward administrators, and village elders to spread the word and ensure students who completed their KCSE and are still at home are enrolled in technical institutions," said Mandago.

The campaign targets to admit over 5,000 students in the 11 VTI's.

Mandago said once the students are equipped with technical skills and knowledge, they will employ themselves and thus be independent.

He also revealed that his administration will sponsor 1,500 youths, 50 in each of the 30 wards to join vocational training institutions and technical training institutions with each student getting a sponsorship of Sh15,000.
