In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties between Uasin Gishu county government and Sweden, governor Jackson Mandago on Friday held a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Kenya, Anna Jardfelt, in Nairobi.Top agenda in the meeting was the much anticipated multi-million solid waste management plant that will see waste turned into power.A Swedish firm, Norrköping Water and Waste, is already working on setting up the plant at Kipkenyo dump site in the outskirts of Eldoret town."This project will be the first of a kind in Kenya, it is also timely as Eldoret is the fastest growing town in the country in terms of population and will be elevated into a City," Mandago said during the meeting that was attended by County Executive in charge of Environment Mary Njogu and the Chief Officer Simon Kemei among others. The ambassador in her part said Sweden was willing and keen on putting more investments on initiatives that will go along way towards improving and creating a cleaner world.
