Uasin Gishu county governor Jackson Mandago has joined Kenyans in mourning the death of the former chairman of Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC), Amb. Bethuel Kiplagat.
Kiplagat passed on at Nairobi Hospital, Friday morning, while receiving treatment.
Mandago sent his condolence message to the family of the late politician describing his death as a loss to the Rift Valley community.
“My sincere condolence to the family, friends, relatives and the people of Nandi county for the loss of carrier diplomat, administrator, politician and businessman Amb Bethwel Kiplagat,” wrote Mandago on his Facebook page, Friday.
The Jubilee governor further expressed sorrow following the death of key politicians, GG Kariuki, Joseph Nkaissery and Nicholas Biwott, in the Rift Valley regions in a span of weeks.
“It is sad times in the Rift Valley as we mourn the loss of senior citizens in a span of weeks. May the almighty God rest their souls in eternal peace,” he added.
Others leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto, former President Daniel Arap Moi and National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Moses Wetangula have also mourned Kiplagat.
