Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has reiterated his commitment to supporting sporting activities in the county.
He said his aim is to ensure that untapped talents are nurtured at the grassroots level."My government will sponsor and nurture all sporting talents in the county since they are a source of wealth in our county and that most of the investment you see in Eldoret comes from them, why we should support our future wealth," said governor Mandago during the launch of Eldoret City Marathon, Monday."I will build at least one training field in every ward for our sportsmen and women to use in their training," added the County boss.He noted that although Eldoret town is known for athletics, residents should to try other sports like football, table tennis, volleyball among others which are now paying a lot."We are also building an ultra-modern high altitude field at Chagaiya for athletes for both local and international, to carry out their training," noted Mandago.To be the first to get updates on breaking and trending news in Kenya, send your Whatsapp number to 0740949990.
