Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has dismissed a latest survey by the Infotrak which said his competitor Zedekiah Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki would win the gubernatorial seat if elections were held today.
According to the poll released on Friday, Buzeki, vying on an independent ticket would get 54.2 per cent of the votes with incumbent Jackson Mandago, a Jubilee party nominee, garnering 42.1 per cent.3.7 per cent of the voters in the county are still undecided on whom to vote for between the two.
Mandago however said the survey was not a true reflection of the reality on ground.Speaking while on a campaign trail in Eldoret town, Friday, the governor expressed confidence that he will win the seat with a landslide.
"Nobody takes those polls seriously. They have always said Raila was ahead in Presidential race but he has never won. So for me the votes are with mwananchi," Mandago said.
"I believe I will win by over 85% of the votes cast. I have over 90% support in rural areas and my popularity has steadily risen to 70% in town as voters have realised what they were told by my competitor has been pure propaganda," he added.
