Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago says those campaigning against him are bitter because his administration blocked corruption avenues.

He said he is being fought because he cut corruption cartels in his administration.

"Most of those people are bitter and dislike me because I do not tolerate corruption. I cannot allow people to grab public property just because I fear politics," he said in Kimumu ward, Wednesday.

"If you ask them cordially, they will open up and tell you that I denied them tenders or recovered public land from them. They have now regrouped saying they want to chase away Mandago," added the County boss.

He reiterated that he was elected to serve wananchi and not few self centered individuals.

"I won't allow any individual to mess with public utilities while I stay mum," noted governor Mandago.
