Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has asked the national treasury to allocate more funds to institutions that will propel realization of the governments Big Four agenda.
Speaking in his office when he hosted a top management team from Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) on Friday, Mandago applauded the authority for the work it is doing to discharge its mandate.
He said that KURA has done a commendable job in connecting road networks in the country limited resources notwithstanding.
The county boss added that the decision by his administration to work with all stakeholders in the region has hastened completion of all projects on time.
“We hold a multi-agency stakeholder meeting in Uasin Gishu regularly. This has led to a seamless realization of all projects. Our main aim is to improve the livelihoods of the residents,” said Mandago.
“We don’t have boundaries working here, neither do we require permission from KURA to supervise their projects,” he added.
The governor also commended the KURA board for routine inspection of their projects saying that it was the only way of ensuring that projects are implemented as required.
Mandago who doubles up as NOREB Chair further asked for collaboration on placing youth on internship program adding that this was the only way of capacity building for local contractors.
On their part, KURA praised Uasin Gishu County for their cooperation with the state-owned parastatal which has helped them achieve their objectives.
