Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Madago has rubbished the newly published allowances for public officers by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission (SRC), terming them as ‘ridiculous’.
Madago, in his Jamhuri address on Friday said that SRC is yet to harmonise the salaries for all the civil servants as required.
"What SRC has done is to reduce allowances for junior civil servants. That cannot be allowed. Before they come to the Public Service, let them deal with parastatal workers who earn exorbitantly," said Mandago.
On his part, Uasin Gishu County commissioner, Hassan Abdi gave a stern warning to the lazy and corrupt public officers, saying he will have them arrested.
“All the public officers who do not attend official meetings, you go to their offices you do not find them, theirs is only to earn salaries and engage in fishy deals, i am telling them we cannot be synonymous with inefficiency," said Hassan.
He told those not willing to work to look for elsewhere to lazy around, as from next week he will be storming to offices unannounced.
