Governor Jackson Mandago now says he will be compelled to mobilize his supports to back opposition outfit NASA should Mt. Kenya community support his rival Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki.

The Uasin Gishu governor is facing a stiff competition from Buzeki, whom he had edged out during Jubilee nominations and has since registered as an independent candidate.

Prior to nominations, Mandago had accused a section of DP William Ruto handlers of working with Buzeki to edge his out.

“We decided to back the President (Uhuru Kenyatta) and his people should be ready to support other communities,” said Mandago in reference to Kikuyu community in Rift Valley.

He added: “I will be forced to mobilize my supporters to back opposition if such mutual respect is not adhered to.”

In recent times, Mandago, Alfred Keter and Oscar Sudi have been leading a political renaissance in North Rift, a region considered to be DP William Ruto’s stronghold.

Although he has never had any outstanding issues with Ruto, Mandago has warned before a number of close allies of Ruto against ‘interferences’ in Uasin Gishu politics.
