Governor Jackson Mandago has dismissed claims that he influenced a section of media to cast doubts over academic credentials of his main rival Kiprotich Bundotich alias Buzeki.

There has been reports on some of the local dailies that Buzeki is among the politicians with questionable degrees.

The matter has boiled down to social media with Buzeki's supporters now claiming governor Mandago had a hand on the media reports.

However speaking to the press in Eldoret, Mandago said he should not be blamed for his rivals woes.

"People should be ready for public scrutiny and when the voters demand for papers from they should not blame me but instead come out and clear the air," noted Mandago who seemed to agree with those questioning his main rival's academic credentials.

"Some people need to first go back to class study for one year to get a certificate, go for diploma in three years then four years for degree and after that vie for governor maybe in 2032."

Already a lawyer has filed a case at the Eldoret High Court seeking for orders to have Buzeki produce his academic certificates.

The billionaire business mogul is yet to respond to claims that his papers are fake.
