Governor Jackson Mandago is expected to address the newly elected Members of County Assembly (MCAs) marking the start of business for the second Uasin Gishu County Assembly.
According to the governor's communication office, Mandago will use the address to the Assembly to outline his development agenda for the people of Uasin Gishu in the next five years.
During the campaigns for the August 8 polls, Mandago said his second term in office would focus on ensuring every household has access to clean water as well as working on improving the Agriculture sector.
The start of the County Assembly will also allow the Jubilee allied governor to fully constitute his administration by appointing the County Executive Commitee Members (CeCs) and Chief Officers which requires approval from the MCAs.
"Once the Assembly resumes sittings, names of individuals appointed to head various departments as CeCs will be forwarded to the Assembly clerk who will thereafter table it to the members," said Silas Tarus, Mandago's director of communication
