Governor Jackson Mandago led thousands of jubilant Kenyans who poured into the streets of Eldoret on Monday to celebrate the Supreme Court's verdict that upheld President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win

Governor Mandago said the ruling had been made and that it was time for Kenyans to go back to work since politics is officially over.

"Whether you are Kalenjin, Luo, Kikuyu and every other community in this country, the ruling has been made and it is time for all of us to start getting back to our businesses," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.

"We have a president and it is the time we start to respect the choice of the Kenyan people who lawfully elected their leader on October 26. Raila should accept the court ruling as President Uhuru Kenyatta did," he added.

He, however, urged Kenyans to maintain peace and avoid being divided by politicians on political and tribal cocoons.

Other leaders present Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno, Senator Prof Margaret Kamar and MPs Oscar Sudi (Kapseret), Caleb Kositany (Soy), William Chepkut (Ainabkoi) and Silas Tiren (Moiben) and former Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker Isaac Terer.

Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto will be sworn in as president and deputy president respectively on Tuesday, November 28 at Nairobi's Kasarani Stadium.
