Uasin Gishu government is determined to improve education standards in the county.

Speaking on Tuesday after giving addressing Uasin Gishu County Assembly, governor Jackson Mandago said his government will ensure each child gets access to education. 

"In this financial year we are constructing 270 ECDE classes at a tune of Sh72 million and we have already constructed 270 ECDE classes," he said.

He said that his government has offered scholarships to 1,200 students to pursue Diploma and Certificate courses, costing Sh315 million.

"To ensure that bright and needy students get access to education I have allocated Sh155 million to be disbursed to secondary and tertiary institutions," he said. 

He urged parents to ensure they take their children to school no matter their financial capabilities.
