Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago has called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to declare April 21, a public holiday for Kenyans to participate in Jubilee party primaries. He said this would ensure every Kenyan Jubilee member across the country participates in the process.

"Since April 21st, Friday will be a work day, by making it a public holiday, people will come out in large numbers to exercise their democratic right," he said, Sunday at AIC Fellowship Church. 

He added: "For us Jubilee members nomination is like election, if elected, you will definitely clinch the seat come general elections." 

He however, asked all aspirants to conduct the party primaries peacefully. 

"If you are defeated don't cause chaos just accept and move. We are in the government and the president may give you another job,'' noted Mandago.
