Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago now says Jubilee party aspirants will lead presidential campaigns at the county level.
Mandago notes that aspirants who secured Jubilee party tickets during the April primaries are the best placed individuals to help President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto win the August 8 polls.
Speaking in Eldoret, Monday, the governor further asked the Jubilee party to channel all the presidential campaign funds through county offices.
“We believe in our team here at Uasin Gishu and this is why we want any funds related to the presidential campaigns to be managed at the Jubilee party county offices. We will not allow people siting in offices in Nairobi only to fly here and say they have planned a political rally,” noted Mandago.
“Jubilee aspirants know this county very well. They have been here long enough to be able to marshal their supporters to vote for Uhuruto,” he added.
Mandago insisted that they are committed towards ensuring Jubilee wins the presidency with the widest margin possible.
“We want the margin between our win and theirs (Nasa) to be as big as possible so that they will be ashamed to file a petition challenging the presidential results,” he said.
