Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has called on the National Assembly to pass a law reviewing the retirement age from the current 65 to 50-years.This, the governor says will give room of more employment for many jobless youths in the country."We have high rate of joblessness in the country and reviewing the retirement age to 50-years will help create employment opportunities to many young and brilliant minds that remain unutilised today," Mandago said.Speaking in Eldoret, Wednesday, the governor further urged legislators to develop and pass a law that will make it mandatory for all elderly persons above 65 years to get monthly stipends. "There has been frequent cry from the elderly claiming the current program is not favorable to all and putting in place such legislation will address this concern," noted Mandago.[Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago at a past event.
