Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has warned individuals destroying street lights.
He said those who will be found will face the full force of the law.
"I want to give a stern warning to individuals with such behaviors that their days are numbered. I cannot allow someone to destroy street lights that we have used millions of shillings of taxpayers money to erect them," he said in Eldoret town, Sunday.
"I have received information that security lights along action, Langas have been destroyed by unknown people. I urge residents to report such individuals and I promise to take stern actions against them," he added.
He said the security lights had reduced crimes in the county by 80 percent.
He, however, warned bodaboda and trolleys using footpath saying they will be arrested and charged.
"It is sad that some bodaboda and twisted are using footpaths which are meant for pedestrians alone, my county askaris will be on the watch out and arrest such individuals," he said.
