Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has warned that the newly appointed County Executive Committee members (CeCs) will face the sack should they fail to effectively deliver their mandate.

Mandago made the remarks on Friday after the 10 CeCs were sworn into office after they were approved by the County Assembly.

Mandago noted that his administration would be conducting a quarterly assessment of the CeCs to ensure they are performing as expected.

The Governor, who was re-elected for a second term in office in the August 8 poll said the former CeCs almost cost him his job due to their poor performance.

"The people almost send me parking just because I had a team that was not performing and this being my last term, I will not allow a few individuals to spoil my legacy,” said Mandago.

"There will be quarterly assessments of each one of you and if found not to be performing, expect to be shown the door," he added.

Mandago sacked eight of the CeCs who served in his previous government.

Roads and Transport CeC Eng Gideon Birir and his Environment counterpart Mary Njogu are the only CeCs who were retained.
