Counties in the North Rift region have been challenged to align their County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs) with the Jubilee government's 'Big Four Agenda'.

North Rift Economic Bloc Chairman Governor Jackson Mandago said this will enable the counties in the region to benefit from the national government's development projects.

Addressing County Executives from Noreb in Eldoret town, Mandago said the region should position itself in a way that will enable maximize on the mega projects that will be initiated under the Big Four Agenda.

Mandago further revealed plans for the eight counties in the North Rift to establish a common trade legislation that would ease environment of doing business among its traders and investors."We need to have common trade legislations within the Noreb as we need to open barriers. 

We can easily access resources if we come together," said the Uasin Gishu county Governor.

"There will soon be a meeting for all Noreb CECS in charge of trade so that we discuss on how to work together as NOREB to syngenise," he added on Friday.

He also said elected leaders in the region were committed to addressing insecurity in parts of the counties in a bid to attract more investors.

Kerio Valley that covers parts of Baringo, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet and Turkana counties which fall under Noreb has been facing incidences of cattle rustling for a long time now.

"We will soon be discussing on unending conflicts in the region and look for a way on how to solve it so that the bloc can be appealing to investors," Mandago said.
