Father to Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Daniel Arap Kirarei has asked voters in the county to give his son a second term in office.

Speaking during the burial of the late Barbaba Tendenei, a member of Myot Council of Elders at Kapsaos in Turbo sub-county, Wednesday, Mzee Kirarei said Mandago had performed well and deserves to complete the two terms he is legally entitled to.

"You gave him (Mandago) a ten year contract and it would only be fair if he completes the work he started," said Mandago's father amid laughter and cheers from the mourners.

"Others should wait until 2022," he added.

This was the first time Mzee Kirarei has spoken publicly about his son's re-election bid.

Mandago who also attended the burial exuded confidence that he will be reelected.

Mandago, a Jubilee nominee, is facing a stiff competition from billionaire businessman Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki who is vying as an independent candidate.
