Uasin Gishu county Governor Jackson Mandago has hit out at the striking nurses following their ongoing strike that has left services in public hospitals paralysed.Speaking during the opening of sessions of the County Assembly in Eldoret on Thursday, Mandago said the nurse's strike has led to lost of many lives. He further told the nurses that even if the CBA was to be implemented, the effects of the strike cannot be reversed."The frequent strikes are so costly and it is obvious that it will not be possible to recover lives lost," said Mandago as quoted by the Star.Mandago added, "I wish to call upon unions to engage with Government and avoid frequent strikes that affect service delivery. It must be noted that once life is lost it will never be recovered even with the signing of collective bargaining agreements thereafter."The Jubilee governor did pledge to equip the hospitals in the county so as to improve health services."We will also ensure that hospitals have adequate medical supplies and improve service delivery to the residents", he said.
