Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has called on the youth and women across the county to join and form cooperative societies and Saccos.
He said the move was the gateway of accessing loans under the Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Fund easily.
Speaking as he interacted with traders and bodaboda operators at the Naiberi junction, Mandago said that his government was committed to funding cooperative societies as they are the pillars of the current economy.
"If you want to improve your businesses and grow quickly, just heed to my advise. Form cooperative societies, identify a viable business opportunity then apply for Enterprise Development loans. You will soar to greater heights," he said on Sunday.
He was accompanied by County Executives Mary Njogu (Environment), Dr. Emily Kogos (Trade), CPA Julius Rutto (Finance) and Samuel Yego (Agriculture).
